New wordpress exploit

Posted in CMS by Administrator on March 28th, 2008

A new exploit that you should be aware of it the one that creates a folder inside of your wp-content, folder called simply /1/. This folder, in most of the cases, seems to be containing web pages (static ones ) containing text related to gabling and just a single JS document, that in some cases does a redirection.

All the static html pages nested in folder wp-content/1/ folder are spammy pages that may harm your website Search Engine rankings, even if you do not link to this folder.

More informations you can read here, on UK Webmaster World Forums, where this was announced.

It sounds like SK2 has recently been updated on this blog. But not fully configured. You MUST visit Spam Karma's admin page at least once before letting it filter your comments (chaos may ensue otherwise).
